I agree with everything that was said about this receiver with the exception of the support. The support is mediocre. It was a toss up between this and the Viewsat. In retrospect I wish I would have bought the Viewsat because their support appears spot on. Otherwise, it’s been sweet!

The Best 5 Films of the 2000s on Satellite TV

Every year, Hollywood’s storied Academy takes a deep breath and examines the films of the past year. The nominations are laid out and eventually the Oscars are presented in March. For critics, there is a similar period of evaluation every year, but the real test is which films shine years after their release. Having closed out the decade spanning 2000-2009, it is time to review the best films of this era. Satellite TV networks are now featuring these 5 films which stood heads above the rest in the 2000-2009 period.
5. Oldboy. If you were wondering what happened to the Hitchcock spirit in cinema, you might look to the East for the answer. Top Korean director Park Chan Wook followed up a string of violent, tense films with the most violent revenge picture movie theaters have ever seen. Unfortunately, if you were not around an arthouse cinema for the limited release this film got, you miss out on one of the most innovative pictures in recent memory. See it in high definition, uncut and commercial free on HBO.
4. The Departed. When the hit of the 2000s, everyone wondered what Martin Scorsese should do. Clearly, the dog than in American films will not go quietly into the night in Little Italy. Instead of staying in the Big Apple with De Niro, Scorsese has his camera in the direction of Boston, this time with Jack Nicholson. Although Jack – a loyal fan of the Yankees – he refused to wear a Red Sox hat to the consternation of the director, it turns into one of itsbest performances in years. Having Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg and Alec Baldwin along for the ride didn’t hurt, either. Check out this film in HD on Showtime.
3. Zodiac. Somehow, this excellent David Fincher film slipped under the radar of the public. Maybe it was the marketing, maybe it was the timing and the serial killer theme, but few films of the decade hold up as well as Zodiac. The type of film that offers no easy answers and tosses the viewer’s attention about remorselessly, Zodiac is moviemaking at its best. Robert Downey, Jr., Jake Gyllenhall and Mark Ruffalo all shine in this thrilling picture, now playing on premium satellite TV networks.
2. No Country For Old Men. Those rascally Coen Brothers were also not about to disappear from the scene. Though many thought they haven’t had the same focus as in their pre-2000 work, this film answered the questions on everybody’s mind about a supposed decline in powers. Javier Bardem received a well-deserved Oscar for his role as the sadistic killer looking for the loot. Josh Brolin co-stars.
1. There Will Be Blood. Oscar had a hard time deciding between No Country and this film that year, but few people expected star Daniel Day-Lewis to not win the Best Actor award. Yet another brilliant performance carried a challenging, bold statement in cinema that is certainly one of the decade’s best. See this film in HD on premium satellite networks.
